Icicle Seafood, Inc. is looking to fill Seafood Promation Filler Machinist (Can Line) Processing positions at its plants in the Kodiak Island, Valdez-Cordova, Bristol Bay, Aleutians West and Kenai regions. These are temporary, full-time positions, and we are looking to fill approximately 2 job openings for employment from: 04/01/2021 to 10/1/2021. Job Duties : Operation, Maintenance and repair of the Cannery's Promation Fillers as well as assist to maintain and operate all salmon canning equipment and belts between fish house and retorts. Pre and post season maintenance as required to ensure smooth start-ups and continued operation. Close cooperation with the other cannery depts to provide a continuous flow of product through the plant. Close cooperation with cannery's QA dept to ensure seam integrities are consistently being met. Work closely with a crew of 2-3 assistance machinists and the associated Sr. Machinists. Post season clean up. Assistance with other plant and company projects as needed.
Work Schedule and Pay :35 basic hours/week. Basic pay is $14.97/hr. Overtime is available as needed at a rate of $22.46/hr. Hours are Mon-Sun, 6:00AM 12:00AM (daily/shift schedule varies) . Need 6 months experience operating promation fillers or similar pressurized, computer controlled food filler canning packaging systems. Good mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills and general knowledge of maintenance, welding, electrical, machine milling, and plumbing. Work efficiently with minimal supervision and perform well under stress. Must be willing to live and work in remote location and work up to 16 hours/daily, 7 days/week, during peak season.
Job Requirements : High School Ed/GED.
Transportation : If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for workers reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a workers voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $12.68 per day during travel to a maximum of $55.00 per day with receipts. The employer will provide transportation to and from worksites at no cost to workers.
Tools, supplies and equipment : Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
Housing: Room and board will be provided to the workers at $20 per day . Housing is optional.
Other Employment Guarantees : A single workweek will be used for computing wages due and workers will be paid every 2 weeks. The employer will make all payroll deductions required by law and will not make any deductions, which are not required by law. H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees), incurred by the H-2B worker.
