Unisea, Inc. is looking to fill approximately 375 Seafood Processing positions at its plant in the Dutch Harbor region. These are temporary, FT positions from 4/1/2021 to 10/15/2021. Unisea, Inc. is located at 88 Salmon Way, Dutch Harbor, AK 99692; Phone: 425 861-5242.
Job Duties : Process crab, multiple species of finfish, bottom fish and salmon. Work on the hand butcher line will involve use of hand & hand tools to perform routine cutting and trimming. Workers will wash, size, and grade seafood and then load processed seafood onto freezer baskets or cartons for shipping. Employer is offering at least 40 hours/week at $12.36/hr. Up to 40 hours of OT is available as needed at a rate of $18.54/hr. Mon-Sun, 6:00AM 12:00AM (daily shift schedule varies).
Job Requirements : High School Diploma/GED required. No training or experience required. A pre-employment drug test will be required.
Transportation : If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for workers reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a workers voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $12.68 per day during travel to a maximum of $55.00 per day with receipts. The employer will provide transportation to and from worksites at no cost to workers.
Housing: Room and Board is $15 per day for any employee, in any region, who works 8 hours or more in a day. There is no charge for any employee, in any regions, who works less than 8 hours in a day. Employer Housing is optional.
Tools, supplies and equipment : Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
Other Employment Guarantees : A single workweek will be used for computing wages due and workers will be paid every 2 weeks. The employer will make all payroll deductions required by law and will not make any deductions, which are not required by law. H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees), incurred by the H-2B worker.
