Westward Seafoods, Inc. is looking to fill approximately 300 Seafood Processing positions at its plant in the Aleutians West region. These are temporary, FT positions and with employment from: 4/1/2021 to 10/10/2021. Westward Seafoods is located at 1 Mile Captains Bay Road, Dutch Harbor, Alaska 99692.Job Duties : Will process several species of seafood including Pollock, Crab, Pacific Cod, Halibut and Sablefish. Will work on the hand butcher line, use hands and hand tools to perform routine cutting and trimming. They will wash, size and grade the seafood and load the processed seafood onto freezer baskets or cartons for shipping.Schedule and Rate of Pay : Employer is offering at least 40 hours/week at $12.36 /hr. Mon-Sun, 6:00AM – 12:00AM (daily/shift schedule varies). OT is available as needed at a rate of $18.54/hr.Job Requirements : No minimum education, training, or experience required. Pre-employment drug test and criminal background check required.Transportation : If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for workers reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a workers voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $12.68 per day during travel to a maximum of $55.00 per day with receipts. The employer will provide transportation to and from worksite at no cost to workers.Tools, supplies and equipment : Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.Other Employment Guarantees : A single workweek will be used for computing wages due and workers will be paid every 2 weeks. The employer will make all payroll deductions required by law and will not make any deductions, which are not required by law. H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees), incurred by the H-2B worker.Housing : Employer will provide optional housing to the worker at $15/day.How to Apply : Please review the job order to ensure you meet the minimum job requirements.
