North Pacific Seafoods, Inc is looking to fill Filet Trimmer positions at its plants in the Sitka, Bristol Bay, Lake and Peninsula, Dillingham regions. These are temporary, full-time positions, and we are looking to fill approximately 300 job openings for employment from: 04/01/2021 to 09/30/2021. Job Duties : Inspects finfish fillets for material defects and advises machinist on the outcome of equipment adjustments. Trim fillets to the appropriate company and customer specifications while maximizing yields and ensuring the lowest percentage of loss. Ensures swift and concise trim cuts using knife. Sets production line pace by maintaining fillet trim speed. At each plant location, employer is offering at least 35 basic hours/week at $12.36/hr and OT available as needed at a rate of $18.54/hr. Mon-Sun, 6:00AM – 12:00AM (daily/shift schedule varies).
Job Requirements : No minimum education, training, or experience required. Intermediate to advanced hand fillet/trim knife skills as well as knife handling and sharpening skill. Ability to work safely at a high rate of speed.
Transportation : If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $12.68 per day during travel to a maximum of $55.00 per day with receipts. The employer will provide transportation to and from worksites at no cost to workers.
Tools, supplies and equipment : Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
Housing: Optional Room and board is available to the workers at a cost of $15/day in all locations.
Other Employment Guarantees : A single workweek will be used for computing wages due and workers will be paid every 2 weeks. The employer will make all payroll deductions required by law and will not make any deductions, which are not required by law. H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees), incurred by the H-2B worker.
